Hello! I’m Mrs. Ruth Snyder and I am happy to tell you a little about myself and my family. I am originally from Minnesota. Even though I have moved quite a bit over the years, I still feel that is where my “home” really is. I am a devoted, yet a realistic Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan and that can be tough! :) My husband and I met in Minnesota and due to his job, we ended up getting moved a bit around the country, where we picked up our children along the way... Our daughter Stacey, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Amy came next in Houston, Texas. We returned to Minnesota where our son Corey came along. We collected a few cats along the way too. Our current furry children are Teddy and Buster.
The one thing that has remained a constant in our family life is our numerous return trips to the Canadian Rockies. We started this family tradition with our honeymoon and continue to hike there with our family as many summers as we can manage.
I earned my teaching degree from the University of Minnesota and my Masters as a Reading Specialist from Aurora University here in Illinois. I have taught in Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, and now in Illinois. My classroom teaching experience includes: kindergarten, first, second, third, and sixth grade. In addition to my love of teaching, I enjoy reading for pleasure, taking hikes, and driving trips, listening to music, and spending as much time with my family and friends as I can.
